These hot chocolate spoons are the perfect DIY homemade gifts! They are simple, fun to make, and fun to give! Make great Christmas gifts and even great Valentine’s Day gifts!
After our cookie decorating party, my friends and I got the DIY bug! We decided to make hot chocolate spoons. These spoons are easy to make and make a great gift. We had such a blast making these! We decided to do it again next year.
How to Make Hot Chocolate Spoons
The supplies you need are:
– Plastic spoons
– Chocolate chips (we had different flavors including dark chocolate and milk chocolate among others – branch out and use butterscotch or peanut butter!)
– Toppings (we used marshmallows, broken up peppermints, crushed andes mints, and crushed butterfinger bars)
– Wax paper or a Silpat
– Mason jars
We used the mason jars and crockpot to melt the chocolate and keep it melted as we dipped the spoons. We filled the crockpot halfway up the mason jars and put it on low. We gently mixed the chocolate as it melted.
Once the chocolate was melted, we started dipping the spoons. We just dipped the spoons into the chocolate and got a healthy amount on the spoon. Then, we sat the spoon down on the silpat (or wax paper) and immediately put the toppings on the chocolate spoons. Let them cool and harden completely.
Once they finish, you can wrap them in cellophane to make them look pretty. You can wrap more than one to have a bundle of them. You can gift them alone or pair them with a mug.
You can put the spoons into hot chocolate to make it more chocolatey or give it extra flavor, or just simply in warm milk. I’m sure whoever you gift these hot chocolate spoons to will love them!
